Today is International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate Women around the world and advocate for gender equality, this year’s theme is Accelerate Action.
Accelerate Action is a worldwide call to acknowledge strategies, resources, and activity that positively impact women’s advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation.
Significant barriers to gender equality remain, yet with the right action and support, positive progress can be made for women everywhere.

The theme for IDPwD 2024 is Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future.
This theme is about people with disability as leaders. Leaders with disability make the world a fairer place for everyone
What is being done in Australia?
In Australia, we are striving for more people with disability in leadership roles. This is a policy priority in Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031. This strategy is Australia’s national disability policy framework.

Today is World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world.
In 1998, the World Kindness Movement launched World Kindness Day. The mission of the World Kindness Movement (WKM) is "to inspire individuals and connect nations to create a kinder world.
If every Australian performed an act of kindness on World Kindness Day, we would have 25 million acts of kindness in a single day.
